These aren't brand new, but I just read Ray Blackston's series that starts with the book, Flabbergasted. I got them at the local library. There are three in the series and they are all fun, lighthearted Christian "beachy" fiction. You could get them at Amazon or Christian book stores, too.
Another one I reviewed on my blog, it's called Sweet Caroline by Rachel Hauck. It is an easy read, and I saw it at Sam's Club the other day. I'd give you my copy, but I can't find it right now.
Karen Kingsbury is also one of my favorite authors. She has a couple newer selections out there right now.
Um, I only have secular books to reccommend. I love any Emily Giffin books. She is from Atlanta and has written some great light reads. Also, Jennifer Weiner books. Very good and most of them are in paper back.
Anything by Karen Kingsbury is good. If you haven't read any of hers...start with the Redemption Series then there are 2 other series that go along with it...the same family through them all.
I'm a lurker, so I'll delurke myself to suggest some great books. If you like Christian Historical Fiction then you MUST read Sharlene MacLaren's books. Her "Little Hickman Creek" series is excellent. The first book in that series is "Loving Liza Jane". They are available on Amamzon. Happy reading!
Summer is certainly a great time to catch up on your reading. Growing up, we took a "siesta" every afternoon in the summer and read books we had chosen from the public library along side our mother as she read her choice. Now I juggle several books at one time and have recently started/finished a few that I would recommend: "God Calling" AJ Russell, editor "the day i ate whatever i wanted" and "We Are All Welcome Here" Eliz Berg, "Father Melancholy's Daughter" Gail Godwin, "Steelwater Creek" Anne Rivers Siddon, "The Tipping Point" Malcolm Gladwell. Enjoy and have a great summer reading! Blessings, Karen
Wendy, I just read The Shack by William P. Young. It was an easy read - finished it in one day. It's all about how we see God and how he really is from the view of a Dad who lost his daughter too a tragedy beyond words. True story or not, it does make you think about God and our relationship with him
I am a mom of 12 children. (Currently 10 at home) They range in ages 3-21. I love being a mom, but I also love learning about women everywhere and how they learn and grow as moms also. My husband and I are houseparents with a private christian organization in which we have permanent custody of children and raise them as our children. I hope to be of help to other moms while also learning about how other moms make it out there. God is so good to us and has blessed us with a full, busy, wonderful life. To Him be all glory and praise for literally getting us through each and every day.

Hope you find something fun, Wendy.
The Patron Saint of Liars by Anne Patchett...about a home for unwed pregnant girls in the 60's. I loved it and it's a pretty quick read.
The Last Lecture, One More Day, Sisterhood of the Traveling pants books are a good light read.

Just read the book "Escape" by a woman who escaped from a polygamist cult. Couldn't put it down. It was a great book and very eye opening.

The Shack...just kidding! People, Real Simple, Southern Living, these are just a few on my list for the summer!
